This nature house is a renovated granite farmhouse in the green, rolling hills of the Minho region, in the quiet village of Covas. The house, measuring approximately 205 m², combines authentic stone walls with modern comforts and can accommodate up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Outside, a spacious garden awaits with a saltwater pool (seasonal) and a covered hot tub that can be used year-round. Inside, the wood stove creates a cozy atmosphere on cooler evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook your own meals using regional produce from the local market. Want to get some work done or catch up with loved ones back home? Starlink internet provides a fast connection, right in the middle of the countryside. You’ll find covered parking on the property and can check in on your own. It’s a wonderful spot for families and groups of friends seeking peace, space, and nature.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in Alto Minho, the greenest part of Portugal, a 15-minute drive from the Minho River, which forms the border with Spain. The surrounding area consists of wooded hills, granite villages, vineyards, and clear streams. From the cottage, you can walk or bike right into nature: there are countless hiking trails, mountain bike routes, and dirt roads leading to the Serra d’Arga. Vila Nova de Cerveira and Ponte de Lima are charming riverside towns with restaurants and a bike and walking path along the water. The Atlantic beaches of Moledo and Caminha are about a half-hour drive away. Wine lovers can visit the Alvarinho wineries around Monção and Melgaço. Ponte de Lima, Valença, and the Spanish town of Tui make for lovely day trips. In the evening, it’s quiet and dark here, with a beautiful starry sky. An ideal base for those who want to be active and truly get away from it all.
