Escape to the tranquility of the forest. This nature house is a wooden chalet perfect for leisurely mornings, long walks in the woods, and evenings in the wood-fired hot tub under the stars. The nature house is situated on a fully fenced lot of over 1,000 m² with a patio, patio furniture, lounge chairs, and a barbecue. Inside, you’ll find a living room with a pellet stove, a sleeper sofa, and a TV; a kitchen with a combination oven, a Nespresso machine, a refrigerator, and a freezer; and a bathroom with a shower. Bedroom 1 has a double bed. Bedroom 2, with two single beds, is located on a mezzanine accessible via a ladder; it is less suitable for very young children or guests with limited mobility. Bed and bath linens, Wi-Fi, and a workspace are provided, and two bicycles are available free of charge. The tap water is filtered groundwater—perfect for cooking and washing—and bottles of spring water are provided for your use. You’ll check in yourself using a key box.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located in Stekene, in the lush Waasland region near the Dutch border. From the cottage, you can walk right into the Stropersbos, and the Clingse Bossen are just around the corner: ideal spots to completely unwind. With the two free bicycles, you can ride to the charming Dutch fortified town of Hulst; by car, it’s just a 15-minute drive. Antwerp, Ghent, and the Belgian and Zeeland coasts are about a 35-minute drive away, so you can easily combine peace and quiet in nature with a day trip. For something special, the Verbeke Foundation is highly recommended: a unique blend of art, nature, and wonder. You’ll find a supermarket, bakery, and restaurants in the center of Stekene.
