You set down your bag and settle in comfortably: outside in the sun on the patio, or inside on the couch, with a cup of coffee or tea right within reach. Hier Vandaan is located in a quiet park on the outskirts of Schaijk, with the Maashorst right on your doorstep. Modest on the outside, full of character on the inside: a sunny yellow kitchen, a surprisingly pink bathroom, and that one leopard-print chair. In the garden, there’s a private hot tub—usable year-round with a hot-water system—and a dome where you can sleep under the stars. There’s also a nice workspace at the dining table for anyone who needs to get a little work done. With two bedrooms (each with a double bed, and a bunk bed), the cottage is ideal for four adults or a family with children—the garden is fenced in, with a trampoline and a playhouse. Check-in is self-service via the key box; unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
Nature and surroundings
The Maashorst is literally right on your doorstep: 3,500 hectares of forest, heathland, and sand drifts where bison, Tauros cattle, and Konik horses roam freely. It’s ideal for hikers and cyclists, with countless trails and a loop around the ponds that starts right from the cottage. When you return from a trip, your private bath or a spot in the sun is waiting for you. Want to explore further into the region? Uden is nearby, Grave—a charming fortified town—is about 14 kilometers away, and Den Bosch, with its imposing St. John’s Cathedral, is also within easy reach. But most guests quickly realize they don’t really need to go anywhere: the peace and quiet here is contagious, and phones naturally tend to stay in pockets a bit more often.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
