Nature house in Sprang-Capelle

The nature house is located in the rural area of the Langstraat’s field landscape. The 17th-century wing offers 3 bedrooms. The slightly newer eastern addition houses the kitchen-diner, a lounge area, and a modern bathroom upstairs with a toilet and double shower. There is also a decorative “freestanding bathtub.” A hiking trail begins right next to the garden, and there are several cycling routes. Efteling and the Loonse & Drunense Dunes are in the immediate vicinity. Boating on the Biesbosch is also an easily accessible outing. At the end of the street is the Zidewinde Swimming Pool. The garden is sunny (when the sun is out), and a barbecue is available. On chilly evenings, you can light the wood stove in the kitchen-diner. A generous supply of firewood is provided. How often do you get the chance to stay in a 17th-century setting? After deducting expenses (electricity, taxes, platform fees, cleaning, etc.), your contribution will go entirely toward the restoration of the nature house.

The landscape of the Slagen was shaped by peat extraction. Much of this is still visible in the area, with its small dikes, cross dikes, and ditches. Be sure to take at least a short walk starting at the end of the nature house’s garden, but don’t hesitate to take a longer detour. And if you have more time, head to the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Or why not visit the Efteling? In Sprang-Capelle and Kaatsheuvel, there are several bike rental shops and a variety of bike routes. But don’t forget to visit the Biesbosch as well. Rent a boat in Drimmelen (reservations are strongly recommended).
