This authentic cottage, built around 1900, is one of those special spots in the Texel landscape of Zuid-Eierland where time seems to stand still for a moment. No excess or luxury here—just simplicity, atmosphere, and plenty of space to relax, recharge, and focus on yourself and each other. The detached cottage features a huge, sheltered garden with plenty of privacy. Relax in the hammock among the fruit trees and enjoy the sun. But when it’s rainy or windy, you can also sit outside under the covered patio with a lounge area. For sauna lovers, there’s a genuine Finnish outdoor sauna with a bucket for cooling off. Inside, it’s cozy by the wood stove. We’ve deliberately chosen to provide a stay without a television or dishwasher. This naturally creates more time for each other. There is one bedroom with a double bed, and a ladder leads up to the loft, which has three single beds. This is a wonderful spot, especially for (slightly older) children: even going to sleep here becomes a little adventure!
Nature and surroundings
From the house, you have an unobstructed view of the runway at De Vlijt Airport. As a result, the silence is occasionally broken by an airplane or skydivers, but that’s exactly what often makes for a bit of a spectacle. And who knows—you might even feel like taking a sightseeing flight or going skydiving over the island yourself. About 1 km away lies the Duinen van Texel National Park, home to the well-known nature reserves De Muy and De Slufter. Here you’ll find starting points for many fantastic hikes through the dune area and along the North Sea beach. In addition, thanks to its central location on the island, the house serves as a great base for many bike rides across the island. In about 20 minutes, you can cycle to De Cocksdorp, De Koog, or De Waal. But there are also fun sights and restaurants within walking distance in the immediate vicinity. As residents of Texel, we love the “outdoors,” but here, the “outdoors” starts right in our backyard—and you don’t even have to leave the house to enjoy it!

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
A deposit of €100.00 applies. You will be refunded after check-out.
