Welcome to our nature house, our delightful vacation spot in the heart of the forest. This charming thatched-roof house was built in 2023 and will be available for rent starting in the summer of 2026 at the new, small-scale, and eco-friendly Baars Estate. Wake up to birdsong and maybe even spot a squirrel from the comfort of your armchair. Thanks to the large windows and French doors, the indoors and outdoors blend beautifully together. Up to two dogs are welcome and can run freely in the fully fenced private wooded garden of approximately 800 m². For children, it’s an adventurous place to build forts and explore nature. There’s room for four adults in two spacious bedrooms with luxurious box-spring beds. Children have their own room with a bunk bed and a desk. The underfloor heating ensures comfort all year round. We use eco-friendly cleaning products and allow rainwater to seep into the forest soil. Enjoy peace and privacy, with the lively town of Giethoorn nearby.
Nature and surroundings
At our nature house, nature literally begins right in the backyard. From the fully fenced private wooded garden—which spans approximately 800 m²—you can look out onto the Staatsbosbeheer forest, where squirrels, birds, and sometimes even deer make an appearance. Children can build forts there, while up to two dogs can run around safely. Step out of the garden and walk or bike straight into nature. Discover peaceful hiking trails, a cross-country track, and challenging MTB routes. Giethoorn, Steenwijk, and Weerribben-Wieden National Park are also nearby. Rent an electric boat, canoe, or SUP, take a dip in the Spokeplas, or visit Taman Indonesia, De Drentse Koe, or the UNESCO World Heritage Site Frederiksoord with the kids. A fifteen-minute walk away is Residence De Eese, where you can enjoy free access to the outdoor pool, wading pool, indoor playground, and petting zoo. After an adventurous day, return home to the tranquility of your own forest cottage. With made-up beds and a welcome package, your vacation gets off to a relaxing start right away.

Free cancellation within 7 days of your booking confirmation, provided the booking request was made more than 28 days before the start date. For bookings starting within 28 days, free cancellation applies within 24 hours. If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• Up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refund
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refund
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refund
• On the day of arrival or later: no refund
- Out of respect for nature: silence between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
- Minimum age of main booker: 21 years.
- Smoking is not allowed in this nature house.
- No fireworks are allowed at this Nature House.
- No parties or events are allowed.
- This nature house is not suitable for groups of young people, students and sports teams.
- Waste separation is mandatory in this nature house.
