B&B Puur Drenthe, Room 3 (max. 4 people), features a hayloft and a private entrance at the rear of the farmhouse. It offers views of the countryside and plenty of hiking and biking trails in Drentsche Aa National Park. Authentic Drenthe heath sheep graze in the yard, the organic vegetable garden provides ingredients for breakfast, and the wood-fired sauna offers the perfect relaxation after a day of enjoying nature to the fullest. The room features a double bed on the ground floor and a double bed in the hayloft (accessible via a staircase). There is a modern bathroom with a toilet, sink, and spacious shower. A terrace and parking space with a charging station are also available. With a campfire pit, tree swing, trampoline, soccer goal, and climbing equipment, it’s also a blast for our younger guests. Nature and surroundings
B&B Puur Drenthe is located in Drentsche Aa National Park, on the banks of the Elperstroom. This unique stream valley lies west of the historic Drenthe village of Elp, on the edge of the Schoonloo and Grolloo forest districts. The stream valley is home to remarkable natural habitats, such as the rare calcareous marsh and blue grasslands. The Elperstroom area is part of Natura 2000, the European network of protected nature areas. Spot the red-backed shrike or the trumpeting cranes. The network of hiking and biking trail junctions makes the National Park easily accessible. Don’t forget your binoculars! On a warm day, enjoy a refreshing dip in the Iberenplas forest lake. Or combine a visit to Drenthe’s largest hunebed with a stop at the Hunebed Museum in Borger. There are also wonderful museums, such as the Drents Museum in Assen. Be sure to visit the authentic open-air museum village of Orvelte, and enjoy the extensive menu at the pancake restaurant De Strohoed in Elp.
