Discover the tranquility of the Creuse Leave the hustle and bustle behind and unwind at our gîte, La Spatule, a charming cottage near the swimming lake in the village of Châtelus-le-Marcheix. The gîte is the lower level of a detached building on our property, but it’s completely private. Here, it’s all about nature, tranquility, and simplicity—a place where you can take your time to hike, bike, swim, and simply enjoy the French countryside. The gîte has been lovingly decorated in natural tones and materials: exposed beams, rough stone walls, and warm wooden floors. Inside, you’ll find a spacious living/bedroom with a comfortable double bed (180x200), a cozy sitting area by the wood stove, and a compact kitchenette with everything you need. The modern bathroom, featuring a luxurious rain shower, a place to store your clothes, and a separate area with a sink and hair dryer, adds a touch of luxury after an active—or simply a lazy—day outdoors.
Nature and surroundings
Next to the house is a fenced-in private garden with a large hammock and a comfortable patio set. Here you can enjoy long summer evenings, a good glass of wine, the singing of birds, and the chirping of crickets—without the hustle and bustle… just peace and quiet. From the gîte, you can walk straight into nature. The surrounding area offers countless hiking and biking trails through forests and along streams. At Lake Châtelus-le-Marcheix, you can swim and soak up the sun on the small beach near the old stone bridge—an idyllic spot that invites you to relax. Bourganeuf, a charming little town with a large Carrefour supermarket, a market (Wednesday mornings), shops, and a few outdoor cafes, is 15 km away. For more shops, outdoor cafes, and restaurants, drive to the lively and more touristy Saint Léonard de Noblat. Limoges is the largest city in the area and is about a 40-minute drive away. Inside the gîte, you’ll find a basket full of brochures with information.

If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount. After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refunded
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refunded
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refunded
• on the day of arrival or later: no refund
A deposit of €250.00 applies. You will be refunded after check-out.
