Nature house in Schimmert

Not something to be repeated, mainly because of the lack of peace and quiet.

Vooral vanwege het ontbreken van rust niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

A warm welcome and very friendly staff. The surroundings are beautiful, but there’s not much peace and quiet at the cottage. There’s a playground 10 meters away where children play—and therefore scream—until sunset. On top of that, there’s not much of a private garden since the people staying at the glamping site walk right past the cottage on all sides. You have to close the blinds and curtains to get a little privacy.
The cottage is very nicely and modernly furnished, with a great bathroom, kitchen, and a comfortable bed (though it does wobble a bit when you step into it). During a heavy rainstorm, the roof panels turned out to be quite noisy. You can’t park your car right next to the cottage, so you have to walk a short distance with your suitcase(s). There is a fairly large parking lot along the road, but it turned out to be full of visitors to the (pancake) restaurant on Saturday evening.

Fijne ontvangst en zeer vriendelijk personeel. De omgeving is prachtig, maar van rust is weinig sprake bij het huisje. Er staat een speeltoestel op 10 meter afstand waar tot zonsondergang kinderen spelen en dus gillen. Bovendien is er van je privétuin weinig sprake aangezien de mensen die op het glampingterrein verblijven langs alle kanten van het huisje lopen. Je moet de luxaflex en gordijnen dichtdoen om een beetje privacy te hebben.
Het huisje is heel mooi en modern ingericht met een prima badkamer, keuken en een fijn bed (dat wel een beetje wiebelt als je erin stapt). Tijdens een flinke regenbui bleken de dakplaten wel gehorig. Je kunt je auto niet bij het huisje parkeren dus je moet een stukje lopen met je koffer(s). Er is wel een aardig groot parkeerterrein langs de weg maar die bleek vol te zijn met bezoekers voor het (pannenkoeken)restaurant op zaterdagavond.
