A paradise for those seeking peace and quiet, hikers, and cyclists. Nestled in the heart of the 5-star hilly landscape, this recently restored luxury vacation home is located in the gatehouse of the old square farmstead (circa 1850). You’ll have a private entrance and a terrace that borders the farm’s pond. Elkenrade is one of the highest-altitude hamlets in the Netherlands and offers many panoramic views stretching deep into the Hilly Countryside, the Ardennes, and the Eifel. The two spacious bedrooms, each with a king-size box spring bed, boast stunning views. The former coach house, with its impressive gate, has been thoroughly restored and transformed into a luxury vacation home with two large bedrooms. Layout: Ground floor living room with French doors opening onto a private terrace, a fully equipped kitchen, dining table, a cozy sitting area, and a coffee corner. The upper floor consists of two large bedrooms with king-size box-spring beds and a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. Max the Border Collie and the two outdoor cats can’t wait to meet you!
Nature and surroundings
Unwind, escape the noise of the city, discover nature, breathe in the fresh air, take in the scents of the changing seasons, hike through the hills, and wander along narrow paths in the surrounding forests or across the meadows. What more is there to say about Elkenrade? That it’s an unspoiled paradise where the sun puts on the only show every evening. Where the full moon still has room to cast shadows on the trees. That’s Elkenrade—a world of yesteryear in the midst of modern times. A place to hike, bike, ride horses, read, and relax. And all this less than half an hour away from major cities like Maastricht, Liège, and Aachen. Note: during the Amstel Gold Race, it’s not quite so quiet here! Bus stop in the immediate vicinity (easily accessible by public transit; 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.) Duvets provided for single and double beds. Not suitable for children or people with physical disabilities or a fear of dogs. Max, our Border Collie, is very friendly but roams freely. Pets allowed upon request.
