In this fully furnished tent, you’ll be staying at the new city campground in the Leiden polder. The tent sleeps four people. Located at a spot where different parts of the grounds come together, this tent offers a peaceful base surrounded by nature. A place to slow down and explore the surroundings. The name refers to the transition between land and water—a place where different worlds meet. That idea of connection and balance also forms the basis of the interior. Natural materials, soft contrasts, and a serene atmosphere create an environment where comfort and simplicity come together. The tent is perfect for families or friends looking for a comfortable stay with a strong connection to nature and the surroundings. *The campground is currently under construction; photos of the interior will follow shortly.
Nature and surroundings
Wake up in your tent to the sound of birds singing and start your day surrounded by nature. The campground is located in Polderpark Cronesteyn, a vast nature reserve on the outskirts of Leiden. From your tent or campsite, you can easily walk or bike right into the polder, past flower-filled meadows, water, and reed beds. Along the way, you’ll regularly encounter meadow birds, waterfowl, and other animals. At De tuin van de smid, you’ll find a place where nature and community come together. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a slice of homemade cake, join us for lunch or one of our dinner evenings, and take the time to soak in the surroundings. Take a stroll through the Vogelvoedselbos, get to know the animals on the grounds, or relax in the outdoor wellness area. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can bike to Leiden’s historic city center in just 10 minutes.
