The 5-star "SinnenFreude" vacation cottage is the ideal vacation home for two guests who have very specific expectations when it comes to design and comfort. It measures 65 square meters and is located in the renovated annex of our “Ostsee-Kate,” where you can book three additional vacation apartments. The 30-square-meter living/dining area lets in plenty of light at any time of day. On the ground floor, there’s also a spacious, modern, and fully equipped kitchen, as well as a luxurious bathroom with a walk-in shower and a mineral cast bathtub. An open staircase leads you first to a loft where you can read, watch TV, or even work—if you’d like. An “en suite” cozy bedroom is located right next door. A terrace, parking spaces, and a lockable bike garage are available, as are Wi-Fi and a washing machine. Bikes can be borrowed free of charge by arrangement. The large orchard with a pavilion and barbecue area is perfect for relaxation.
Nature and surroundings
Our historic "Ostsee-Kate" is located on a 3,300-square-meter property in the quiet village of Schmatzin, with a population of 100 and no through traffic. In ten minutes, you’ll be at the Peene River, the “Amazon of the North.” By canoe, boat, or on a guided river tour, you can experience a breathtaking river landscape. In addition, you can hike and bike in the surrounding area as far as you like. From Schmatzin, you can reach the island of Usedom in half an hour and the island of Rügen in three-quarters of an hour (both are also accessible by train and bike!). The Hanseatic cities of Greifswald and Anklam are very close by; Stralsund and the Szczecin Lagoon are about three-quarters of an hour away, and Rostock is just over an hour away. Whether it’s nature, culture, or cuisine: in Schmatzin, you have it all right on your doorstep, and after an eventful day, you can retreat to our oasis of tranquility.
