New, comfortable apartment in a modern building, built in 2024. The apartment consists of a spacious, bright room measuring 18 m² with a double bed, dining table, chairs, TV, bookshelf, and a small kitchenette designed for preparing breakfast and, if desired, a simple meal. It is equipped with a refrigerator, electric stovetop, microwave, electric kettle, and coffee maker. A sliding door leads to a brand-new bathroom with a sink, shower, and toilet. Private entrance via the terrace. The terrace features a new, comfortable sofa with cushions and a few chairs with a small table. From the apartment, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the flower garden, meadows, and woods. We have 2 bicycles available to borrow, and we can pick up guests arriving by public transportation at the Goor station upon request. In short, a lovely, peaceful spot in beautiful surroundings.
Nature and surroundings
Our house is located on a beautiful, quiet road on the outskirts of Diepenheim (Hof van Twente). You’ll mostly hear birds, insects, and frogs, and occasionally a farm machine in the distance. The landscape is very varied, featuring meadows, fields, woods, streams, and sandy paths. There are plenty of beautiful biking and hiking trails in the surrounding area. The region is also known for its estates and castles. The center of Diepenheim is about 3.5 km away, with amenities such as a small supermarket, café, restaurant, De Pol theater, snack bar/ice cream parlor, museum (Drawing Centre), and art galleries. In Goor (about 6 km away), there are more shops and the nearest train station.

This apartment has been thoughtfully designed and furnished. The high ceilings and wooden beams create a very spacious feel. The interior of the living and sleeping areas exudes simplicity, tranquility, and warmth through its color scheme, materials, and furnishings (art, a bookshelf). The kitchenette has everything you need. The bathroom is large, and the shower is perfect. And finally, we found a “little home” with plenty of shelves and hooks to hang clothes and towels. (The towels, by the way, were of very good quality.) The bed is fine. The only thing that could be improved is the Wi-Fi reception (if we had to name one minor drawback). We didn’t have any issues with it, though.
Arjen and Nicole, our hosts, are courteous and attentive. The private entrance via the terrace—which features a comfortable sofa and cozy chairs—offers plenty of privacy. We immediately felt at home in this “cottage”; it was almost a shame to return to the bustling metropolitan area.
This “little house” is a self-contained apartment in a recently built home that, from the outside, closely resembles a traditional Twente barn (schöppe). As a result, the house blends perfectly into the landscape. It is located in the heart of the South Twente countryside. The natural garden surrounding the house complements it beautifully. From the living area and the terrace, you look out over a meadow and can see the bocage landscape for which the Achterhoek region of Gelderland and this part of Overijssel are famous. The surrounding area is ideal for bike rides along streams, across heathlands, and through forests. The historic castle gardens (Weldam, Warmelo, Twickel) are also within biking distance. Anyone staying in this “little cottage” will have no trouble enjoying both nature and the peace and quiet.

Worth repeating.
Voor herhaling vatbaar.
A wonderful new little apartment with a wonderfully spacious bed, a nice bathroom, and a cozy seating area on the wooden terrace overlooking a sea of wildflowers. Behind it, a sweeping view of a meadow where we saw fawns frolicking.
And let’s not forget the super-nice, hospitable, and friendly landlord!
Thank you, Arjen, for everything! And thanks for the hooks, too :).
Hartelijke groet, Thea & JackThis text is automatically translated.
