Welcome to our nature house on the edge of the Dwingelderveld. A year and a half ago, we fell in love with this special place because of its tranquility, open spaces, and the beautiful, unobstructed views of nature. Since then, we’ve completely renovated the interior of the cottage and furnished it to create a comfortable place where you can truly unwind. The cottage sleeps up to four people and has three bedrooms, all on the ground floor. From the living room, kitchen, and bathroom, you can look out over the surrounding landscape, where every season has its own charm. Surrounding the house is a natural woodland garden where you can enjoy the silence, the birds, and the fresh outdoor air. The cottage is located at the end of a quiet little street with several vacation homes, offering plenty of privacy and a unique view. As far as we’re concerned, this is the most beautiful spot in the area. Whether you’re coming to hike, bike, or simply to do absolutely nothing, you’ll naturally find peace and quiet here.
Nature and surroundings
Our nature house is situated in a beautiful location on the edge of the Dwingelderveld, the largest wet heathland area in Western Europe. From the house, you can easily walk or bike right into nature, past vast heathlands, forests, ponds, and characteristic flocks of sheep. The area is a paradise for hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers, and those seeking peace and quiet. Just 2 kilometers away lies the charming village of Ruinen, with its pleasant outdoor cafes, restaurants, shops, and a weekly market. There’s plenty for children to do, such as the De Slenken outdoor swimming pool in Ruinen, various playgrounds, and beautiful nature trails in the Dwingelderveld. Attractions such as the De Drentse Koe Play and Ice Farm and the Dwingelderveld visitor center are also just a short distance away. For a day of shopping or cultural exploration, both Meppel and Hoogeveen are within a 15-minute drive. Whether you’re looking for an active vacation or simply peace and nature, here you can enjoy the best that Drenthe has to offer.

If you cancel within the specified period, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount. After that, you will receive a partial refund of the trip cost and a 100% refund of the deposit:
• up to 42 days before arrival: 70% refunded
• 42–28 days before arrival: 40% refunded
• 28 days through the day of arrival: 10% refunded
• on the day of arrival or later: no refund
A deposit of €250.00 applies. You will be refunded after check-out.

- Minimum age of main booker: 25 years.

- No fireworks are allowed at this Nature House.
- No parties or events are allowed.
- This nature house is not suitable for groups of young people, students and sports teams.
- Waste separation is mandatory in this nature house.
