Welcome to our nature house on the edge of the Dwingelderveld. A year and a half ago we fell in love with this special place because of its tranquility, space and the beautiful unobstructed view of nature. Since then we have completely renovated the inside of the cottage and furnished it as a comfortable place to really unwind. The cottage sleeps up to four people and has three bedrooms, all on the ground floor. From the living room, kitchen and bathroom you overlook the surrounding landscape, where each season has its own charm. Around the house there is a natural woodland garden where you can enjoy the silence, the birds and the fresh outdoor air. The cottage is located at the end of a quiet street with several cottages and therefore has a lot of privacy and a unique view. In our opinion, this is the most beautiful place in the area. Whether you come for walking, cycling or just to do nothing at all: here you will automatically come to rest.
Nature and surroundings
Our nature house is in a beautiful location on the edge of the Dwingelderveld, the largest wet heathland in Western Europe. From the house you walk or cycle straight into nature, past vast heathlands, forests, fens and characteristic sheep herds. The area is a paradise for hikers, cyclists, bird watchers and peace seekers. Just 2 kilometers away is the cozy village of Ruinen, with nice terraces, restaurants, stores and a weekly market. For children there is plenty to do, such as outdoor pool De Slenken in Ruinen, several playgrounds and beautiful nature experience routes in the Dwingelderveld. Also attractions such as Speel- en IJsboerderij De Drentse Koe and the visitor center of the Dwingelderveld are a short distance away. For a day of shopping or culture, Meppel and Hoogeveen are both within 15 minutes. Whether you choose an active vacation or just peace and nature, here you can enjoy the best that Drenthe has to offer.
