Nature house in Norg

A really nice place, and a lovely little house. Small, but that was the idea. There’s a kitchen where you can cook for yourself; the only thing I missed was a microwave. Cooking for one person (for me, at least) always ends up being at least two servings, and that’s when a microwave comes in handy. I just reheated it on the stove, which worked just fine.
The cottage was already warmed up a bit when I arrived—very thoughtful!
The owner responds very quickly to your emails, usually the same day, and that communication was also very pleasant!

Een hele fijne plek, en een mooi huisje. Klein, maar dat was ook de bedoeling. Er is een keuken waar je zelf kunt koken, het enige dat ik miste was een magnetron. Koken voor 1 persoon leidt (bij mij) altijd tot minstens twee porties, en dan is een magnetron wel makkelijk. Nu opgewarmd op het fornuis, dat ging ook prima.
Het huisje was al een beetje opgewarmd toen ik aankwam, heel attent!
De eigenaresee reageert heel snel op je mails, meestal nog dezelfde dag, en dat contact was ook heel fijn!

A cottage in a park, but right in the middle of the woods. You can get to the road next to the park in no time, and then walk into the woods behind the cottage. The road behind the cottage isn’t open to through traffic, so hardly anyone passes by. I’ve only seen a cyclist now and then.
It’s really wonderfully peaceful there.

Een huisje op een park, maar midden in het bos. Je bent ook zo op de weg naast het park, en kunt dan het bos achter het huisje inlopen. De weg achter het huisje is niet voor doorgaand verkeer, dus er komt nauwelijks iemand langs. Ik heb alleen af en toe een fietser gezien.

A neat little cottage for 2 people, but it’s also perfectly fine on your own :-)
Great kitchen with a well-functioning induction cooktop (2 burners), dishwasher, and refrigerator.
Large TV for streaming (you’ll need to use your own phone or tablet, though). Comfortable bed. Spacious, comfortable sofa. Good Wi-Fi. Good shower.
Bedding and kitchen linens are provided, but bath towels are not.
It’s nice to sit outside under the little canopy; we saw (and heard) lots of jays, and even a squirrel made an appearance.
Communication with the friendly owner went smoothly via email and WhatsApp.

Keurig huisje voor 2 personen, maar in je eentje ook prima te doen :-)
Prima keuken met goed werkende inductiekookplaat (2 pitten), vaatwasser en koelkast.
Grote TV om op te streamen (wél je eigen telefoon of tablet gebruiken dus). Goed bed. Goede grote bank. Goede WiFi. Goede douche.
Bed- en keukenlinnen is verzorgd, maar badhanddoeken niet.
Buiten onder het afdakje zitten is prettig, veel gaaien gezien (en gehoord) en ook de eekhoorn was aanwezig.
Contact met de vriendelijke eigenaar verliep soepel via e-mail/WhatsApp.

The cottage is located in a park. During a midweek stay in September, it was quiet. There were some construction noises here and there, and some noise from the sports fields in the distance. And very occasionally, a passenger plane flying in from Eelde—really, very occasionally.
The cottages are quite close together, but thanks to the trees, it still feels fairly open. And it probably makes a difference whether you visit during peak season or on a midweek getaway in the off-season.
You can walk right into the woods, so hiking and biking are perfect right from the cottage. There’s plenty of forest, peatlands, heathland, and ash tree landscapes in the area.
The center of Norg is within walking distance, where you’ll find restaurants, two supermarkets, and a small market on Wednesday afternoons.

Het huisje staat op een park. Tijdens een midweek in september was het rustig. Hier en daar klusgeluiden en in de verte wat geluid van de sportvelden. En heel af en toe een passagiersvliegtuig vanaf Eelde, echt heel af en toe.
De huisjes staan best dicht op elkaar, maar door de bomen is het toch redelijk vrij. En het zal waarschijnlijk wel schelen of je in het hoogseizoen komt of in een nazeizoenmidweek.
Je loopt zó het bos in en wandelen/fietsen kan dus perfect vanaf het huisje. Veel bos, veen, heide en essenlandschap in de omgeving.
Het centrum van Norg is op loopafstand en daar vind je restaurants, twee supermarkten en op woensdagmiddag een kleine markt.
