Chão da Mina is an attractive, self-sufficient stone cottage for two, hidden in the open landscape of central Portugal. The cottage is a cozy open space (37 m²) where living, sleeping and cooking come together. It is completely "off-grid" thanks to solar energy and its own water from a well, thoughtfully designed with simplicity in mind without compromising on comfort. Outside you have two private terraces with wide views. You have access to our grounds of 1.75 hectares full of olive trees, vines and fig trees where you can walk freely and pick fruit. Our guiding principle is earth - sky - silence: a place to reconnect with what is essential. We live on the property ourselves, but out of sight and hearing, so your privacy is guaranteed.Perfect for: Couples, solo travelers and digital nomads (4G wifi available).Welcome: LGBTQIA+ guests and small/medium sized pets.Please note: A car is necessary.
Nature and surroundings
Located near the village of São Miguel d'Acha (Castelo Branco region), this place offers an authentic experience of the Portuguese countryside. From the cottage you have breathtaking views of the mountain ranges Serra da Gardunha and Serra da Estrela. Here you will not find mass tourism, but pure tranquility and an impressive starry sky.The area lends itself perfectly to hikers and cyclists. A short walk away is a charming village with a bakery and café. For more adventure, you can easily reach larger cities such as Idanha-a-Nova or the rugged mountains. Living at Chão da Mina means living with nature: watch the light change over the hills, rest under a cork oak tree or spot local wildlife. It is a real 'quinta' where chickens roam free and you can still really hear the rural silence. An ideal base for those who love space, nature and an adventure of their own. Earth - sky - silence.
