Both apartments are situated on their own property, surrounded by an orchard, pasture, food forest, garden, and a sauna with a large (swimming) pond. There is a raft you can paddle on. There are plenty of birds, and if you’re lucky, you might spot a roe deer in the food forest (still developing; planted in 2018). Chickens roam freely on the property. Our cat, Joep, has become a regular guest here. In the evening, you can see a beautiful starry sky, the moon, and stunning sunsets, and during the day you can admire the beautiful skies. You can relax in our garden and wander around the property. During the season, you can pick fruit in the food forest. In the evening, you can build a fire or enjoy our sauna. It’s wonderful to relax on the bench by the pond. One apartment is part of ‘t Leemhuus, which also features a common area that’s perfect for groups. The second apartment—which is usually used only for sleeping—is a separate unit with its own entrance and garden, detached from our house.
Nature and surroundings
From here, you can take a walk on the 't Realaar estate. We’re located 4 km from two villages, Heino and Raalte—both of which have a train station (bike rentals available in Raalte)—and a 25-minute drive from Zwolle and Deventer. Zwolle and Deventer are beautiful Hanseatic cities. We’re a great starting point for hiking and biking. There are several beautiful estates in the immediate vicinity. Nijenhuis Castle in Heino is a popular destination thanks to its lovely sculpture garden and art exhibitions inside the castle. You can also enjoy lovely walks in that area. There is also a sculpture garden in Marienheem. For children, the Flierefluiter is just 1 km away from us. The Wythmenerplas near Zwolle is a great place to swim. There are many good restaurants in the area.
