The spacious, insulated wooden log cabin (2023) has an unobstructed view over the meadows of Natuurmonumenten. This manages the overflow area where we live. The interior is simple but very suitable for walkers or cyclists who want to experience the beautiful surroundings. The road on which we are located is often busy but because the cottage is located behind the farmhouse, the nuisance is limited. The yard is shared with a family with children and 2 dogs, but the log cabin offers private space. The next neighbors are the 2 mooching ducks and the chickens that scavenge in the meadow.The cottage can accommodate 1-2 people and is equipped with compost toilet and electric heating. The kitchen is equipped with electric stove, kettle and hot and cold water.
Nature and surroundings
The Holtingerveld, Dwingerveld and Drents Friese woud are beautiful walking and cycling areas. The Drenthepad runs about 1 km from the location. Forests, heathland, fens, meadows alternate. Havelte, Dwingeloo and Diever are the nearest beautiful villages with amenities. All 3 at 6-8 km distance from Uffelte. Walking maps are available.

Simple log cabin, but fully equipped from cooking utensils to spices, a speaker, a board game and candles. We were kindly received by Rita and led to the cottage. Nice view over the landscape of Natuurmonumenten, where more often than not deer were grazing. The neighbors' chickens and ducks were also cozy to have around when we ate outside. Beds were comfortable and I also liked the smell of the wood. The only downsides were the plumbing, such as a composting toilet (this was clearly shown in the description) which does require a bit more work than we had anticipated and being able to shower rather briefly because the shower could only provide 20 liters of hot water. Nevertheless, we had a very nice stay and were able to explore the beautiful surroundings at our leisure. Thank you Rita!
Eenvoudige blokhut, maar wel compleet ingericht van kookgerei tot kruiden, een speakertje, een bordspel en kaarsjes. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen door Rita en naar het huisje geleid. Mooi uitzicht over het landschap van Natuurmonumenten, waar vaker wel dan niet hertjes stonden te grazen. Ook de kippen en eenden van de buren waren gezellig om in de buurt te hebben wanneer we buiten aten. Bedden waren comfortabel en de geur van het hout vond ik ook prettig. Enige minpuntjes waren de sanitaire voorzieningen, zoals een compostwc (dit was wel duidelijk in de omschrijving weergegeven) die toch wat meer werk vraagt dan we hadden voorzien en het vrij kort kunnen douchen doordat de douche maar 20 liter warm water kon geven. Desalniettemin hebben we een erg fijn verblijf gehad en konden we de prachtige omgeving in alle rust verkennen. Bedankt Rita!
