The Goldie is your retreat on Sonnenhügel: a tiny house full of warmth and charm, designed for an undisturbed getaway for two. A place to arrive, take a deep breath, and be together—away from the hustle and bustle, close to the stars. The Goldie is arguably the coziest tiny house on Sonnenhügel—a former construction trailer transformed into a small retreat full of warmth. Warm woods, thoughtful details, and the sweeping view of the countryside create an atmosphere that slows the pace and soothes the soul. When the wood-burning stove crackles in the evening, everything grows quiet—and the day comes to a gentle close. The studio bathroom in our barn, complete with a shower, toilet, and infrared sauna, is a special place of peace and relaxation. From Goldi, it’s a 30-minute drive to where the Baltic Sea reveals all its diversity: wide beaches in Kühlungsborn, quiet coves near Rerik, and the vast Salzhaff. If you’re in the mood for culture, a short drive will take you to the old Hanseatic cities of Wismar and Rostock—with their historic alleys, markets, and harbor charm.
Nature and surroundings
All around the Goldi, the garden invites you to linger: to read, browse, sit together, or simply do nothing. If you’d like to get moving, you’ll find a light-filled sanctuary in the yoga studio, which features a small fitness area. On the sunny hill, you’ll also meet our animal friends: chickens that lay fresh eggs, cats that love company—and somewhere in the distance, you’ll hear Karl, the rooster. Goldi is no ordinary vacation home. It’s a place that gives you time: to settle in, take a deep breath, and enjoy yourself. Sonnenhügel lies off the beaten path. Anyone who arrives here quickly realizes: the outside world feels a little further away. A narrow village road leads you up to your Tiny House Goldi—a place that doesn’t need to be explained, but rather reveals itself. Sonnenhügel is located on the outskirts of Neu Karin, a small village in Mecklenburg with about 80 residents. You’ll find everything you need within a radius of about 8 kilometers.
