The cottage is located in the middle of vast meadows, and adjacent to the beautiful bird area Volgermeerpolder (over 100 hectares). An ideal place for nature lovers and peace seekers, with unobstructed views, silence and plenty of space. The cottage is comfortable and fully equipped. Despite its quiet location, you are surprisingly quickly in Amsterdam by bus: in 16 minutes you are in the heart of Amsterdam and in 8 minutes you are at the transferium of the North-South line. At the back of the property, hidden in the orchard, is a simple hideaway. This place has no facilities, but for that very reason it offers a unique experience of absolute peace and quiet. The surroundings of the nature house are in a typical peat meadow area, characterized by extensive peat meadows, winding ditches and an open landscape that constantly changes with the light and the seasons. This centuries-old cultural landscape is a paradise for nature lovers, with an extraordinary variety of flora and fauna. In the sky you regularly see birds of prey such as the buzzard, kestrel and harrier hunting above the meadows. On the grasslands, meadow birds like lapwings, godwits, redshanks and oystercatchers breed and forage, filling the area with life and sound. The spoonbill is also a striking and regular visitor, with its characteristic, somewhat messy-looking flight and graceful way of foraging in the shallow ditches. This area offers a rare wealth of nature, where peace, space and biodiversity come together.
