The house has a spacious living room overlooking the water and at the back you have a view of the woods. It has 1 bedroom with shower on the ground floor and a separate toilet. So if you are slightly less mobile, this is the right house.If you plan to bring bikes, you can put them in the barn and your car under the carport on our private parking.The house is within walking distance of the picturesque town of Wijk bij Duurstede. This fortified town lies directly on the water with its beautiful castle, mill and dikes. It offers several cozy terraces, including at the city wall where you have a beautiful view over the water. Should you not feel like cooking, no problem, the old town has many restaurants.
Nature and surroundings
The backyard runs into the riparian forest part of the Lunenburgerwaard nature reserve. You will find here beavers, foxes, pheasants, storks, buzzards and various songbirds and a beautiful walking route along the dead arm of the river in the nature reserve. This environment is very suitable for fishing, canoeing, cycling through the dikes or walking in the woods. You are in fact near the Utrecht Ridge, this is 20 minutes cycling through the dike or wetering. If you feel like visiting cities then this house is very central; Utrecht and Amersfoort are within just 20 minutes. You can enjoy a wonderful vacation in this rural new vacation home with beautiful views over the Lower Rhine / Lek. You have a beach where you can take a dip in the dead river arm . The spacious garden and the beautiful terrace at the front gives the ultimate vacation feeling. Who is not happy with pleasure boats that pass by.
