Beautiful surroundings, peaceful atmosphere. A unique spot on the water. Charming decor, well-maintained, with delicious treats.

Staying on a wooden camping raft is a unique experience; it sways a little. It’s not very quiet, because there’s a busy road nearby. And Schiphol Airport isn’t far away, so airplanes fly overhead quite often. The view is beautiful—over water and meadows—with the sounds of sheep, grebes, moorhens, ducks, geese....
There’s no electrical outlet, but there is a USB charging port, two electric lamps, and two battery-powered lamps. The eco-toilet takes some getting used to, but it works great. We didn’t cook because the weather wasn’t great, and cooking outside is tricky in those conditions.
The floating cabins aren’t very clearly marked at the entrance to Fort Uitermeer. They’re located next to the Porterhouse (restaurant).

Het is een bijzondere ervaring om op een houten kampeervlot te verblijven; het schommelt een beetje. Het is niet heel rustig, want er is een drukke weg vlakbij. En Schiphol is niet ver weg, dus vliegtuigen komen met grote regelmaat over. Het uitzicht is prachtig over water en weiland met het geluid van schapen, futen, waterhoentjes, eenden, ganzen....
Er is geen stopcontact, wel een usb oplaadpunt, 2 elektrische lampen en 2 lampen op batterijen. Het eco toilet is even wennen, maar werkt prima. Koken hebben we niet gedaan, want het weer was niet fantastisch en dan is buiten koken lastig.
De drijfhuisjes staan niet erg duidelijk aangegeven bij de ingang van Fort Uitermeer. Ze liggen naast het Porterhouse (restaurant).

I wouldn't do this as a long vacation, but for a few nights at most.

Ik zou dit niet als lange vakantie doen, maar voor max een paar nachten.

A really fun experience. Even though you’re close to everything, you still feel completely free and can enjoy watching the swallows fly by, the kingfisher, the coot, and the tranquility of the water and the meadow beyond. We took a short trip in the canoe, and if you want, you can easily walk over to the terrace for a snack or drink at the restaurant next door.

Super leuke ervaring. Hoewel je overal dicht bij zit, zit je toch helemaal vrij en kan je genieten van de zwaluwen die voorbij vliegen, ijsvogeltje, meerkoet en de rust van het water en het weiland erachter. Klein tochtje gemaakt met de kano en als je wil loop je zo naar het terras voor een hapje/drankje van het naastgelegen restaurant.
