The Watercabin is located on the waterfront of the historic Fort Prins Frederik, near the Volkerak. Surrounded by nature, it’s in a peaceful setting teeming with wildlife, including birds, fish, and deer. The Watercabin features a lovely garden right on the water, with a lounge sofa, sun loungers, a parasol, and a dining area. A charcoal grill is ready for your use. You’ll start enjoying your stay the moment you step into the garden. The chalet has a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee maker. Private bathroom with toiletries. Beds are made, and towels are provided. The waters surrounding the fort are popular with carp anglers.
Nature and surroundings
The chalet is located on the moat at Fort Prins Frederik, a unique fort in Ooltgensplaat. It’s a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. It’s a perfect spot for hiking, biking, or simply relaxing. The village of Ooltgensplaat is 750 meters from the fort. The village has a small harbor, a barber shop, and a supermarket. Goeree-Overflakkee: With nature reserves and expansive beaches, nature lovers will be in their element here: it’s a sustainable destination. Stroll past flower-filled meadows and rolling dunes, and come face-to-face with Heck cattle and Fjord horses. Birdwatchers can visit, among other things, a giant architectural egg and the bird-watching promenade. A colony of wild flamingos spends the winter on the Grevelingen every year. Grab your binoculars and who knows—you might even spot a seal from the beach! But what Goeree is really known for is water sports. In addition to sailing, all disciplines of surfing are practiced here.
