We care deeply about nature and believe that every small step counts. Our house runs entirely on solar panels, heat pumps and batteries, so you can stay here with a minimal carbon footprint. For us, this is just a natural way of living. Inside, we have tried to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house has everything you need to feel at home, take a break from the daily hustle and bustle and enjoy your vacation to the fullest. Here you can truly experience the tranquility of the countryside, while Amsterdam is just around the corner. So you enjoy the best of both worlds: a relaxing stay with the highlights of the city at your fingertips. It is an ideal place to recharge with family or friends.
Nature and surroundings
Abcoude is a charming and historic village that offers you the best of both worlds. Located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, it feels like a completely different world with its quiet rivers, green polders and typical Dutch landscape. One of the highlights is the river Gein, which flows through the area. It's a beautiful place to walk or bike and was known to inspire painter Piet Mondrian. Nearby you will also find the Fort near Abcoude, the oldest fort of the Defence Line of Amsterdam and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the middle of nature. The village center has a cozy, local atmosphere with nice terraces, stores and places like Anna Haen for lunch or De Witte Dame, located in a beautifully restored old train station. The location is ideal if you want to visit the city without the constant crowds. By train or car you can reach Amsterdam Central in about 20 minutes, while major venues such as the Ziggo Dome or Johan Cruijff ArenA.
