La Sosta B&B is a stylish and small-scale bed and breakfast in a monumental farmhouse on the edge of the Chaamse woods. La Sosta means "the stopover", a place where you can rest and recharge. Enjoy vegetables and fruit from the garden, a tasty wine from Chaam, the Moselle or Piemonte, or just enjoy the silence of the surroundings. Our long-gabled farmhouse from 1891 is within walking distance of the Valkenberg estate and the Chaam woods. The B&B is situated in the completely sustainably restored calf stable (approx. 50m2). A spacious living room with dining table, sitting area and small pantry (for coffee, tea and warming up a small snack). Then the bedroom with Auping box spring bed (210 cm), luxury bathroom with toilet, large sink and walk-in shower. View over the fields towards the forest and patio doors to the private terrace. A private garden with terrace on the south with edible flowers, an apple tree, fig tree, berry bushes, tea and herb plants.
Nature and surroundings
The large garden of nearly an acre includes a pool, a sizable vegetable garden and a food forest. Also a second-hand greenhouse entertained from an industrial greenhouse. Anneke (the hostess) is a lovely woman who runs the B&B and everything that goes with it with passion. The cottage looks beautiful, finished with lovely materials, a very comfortable bed, and all the breakfast food is made by local people using fresh ingredients—and you can really taste it! For me, the only downside was that there were no cold cuts, but that’s just nitpicking.
I stayed there for two nights, from Friday through Sunday. On Friday, I went for a walk on the Strijbeekse Heide, which is about 15 to 20 minutes from the B&B. On Saturday, I went into Breda. The distance is about the same, so the location is perfect.
I highly recommend this B&B!Anneke (de gastvrouw) is een aardige vrouw die de B&B en alles wat eromheen zit met passie runt. Voor mij het enige minpuntje was dat er geen vleeswaren bij zaten maar dat is muggenziften.
Ik ben er 2 nachten geweest, van vrijdag t/m zondag. Op de vrijdag ben ik op de Strijbeekse heide gaan wandelen, is ongeveer 15 a 20 minuten van de B&B vandaan. De zaterdag ben ik Breda ingegaan. Idem qua afstand dus de locatie is perfect.
Deze B&B is van harte aan te raden!The B&B is situated in a beautiful, peaceful rural setting. There’s a road running alongside it, but you don’t notice it at all inside the cottage. In the morning, you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise from the living room and take in the lovely view across the fields.
De B&B ligt mooi landelijk en lekker rustig. Er loopt een weg langs maar in het huisje merk je daar niets van. 'S ochtends heb je een prachtige zonsopgang aan de woonkamerkant en kijk je mooi over de velden weg.
