Nature house the Squirrel is a spacious and comfortable vacation home located in the hamlet of Zeldam, in the Hof van Twente. Located next to our house, with a poultry farm behind it, the vacation home has a spacious living room, an equipped kitchen and a bright conservatory overlooking a deep garden and surrounding meadows. When the weather is nice you can sit there. All bedrooms have extra-long box springs. Outside you will find a cozy terrace with an awning and a cool sitting pit for hot summer days. There are two bathrooms; downstairs a shower and upstairs a bath/shower. For children there is plenty of room to play in the adjacent meadow. Pony lovers can take a guided ride on the pony Skippy, brushing is also allowed, under parental supervision. A nice place for nature lovers and families who want to enjoy the Twente countryside.
Nature and surroundings
Near the nature house the Squirrel, about 9 km, is located the ancient Twickel estate with its vast forests and farms. The castle garden is worth a visit and you can make beautiful walks there. Delden is a picturesque town where you can have a nice dinner and sit on the terrace. In the tourist village of Markelo, about 8 km from the Squirrel, there are beautiful hiking, cycling, and mountain biking trips to make over the five hills. You go through a rolling landscape of heather, moor and juniper berries of the nature reserve the Borkeld. Near Diepenheim, about 8 km from the vacation home, there are a number of castles to see. For children is nearby the Kukelnest, a petting zoo in Goor. In Bentelo there is a nice indoor and outdoor playground t'Höfke and an interactive gnome trail.
