Haru is a light and minimalist tiny house for one to two people, tucked away in a quiet spot on the edge of the Drenthe Aa area. Surrounded by trees, birdsong and the slow rhythm of the seasons. The cottage is simply furnished: just enough, nothing too much. Everything has been chosen to bring peace; this is a place to slow down. To walk along the Drentse Aa, take a bike ride through the countryside, or retreat with a good book. To watch the light between the trees with a cup of tea while the wood stove burns softly. The forest cottage feels cozy and secure, like a warm shell in the middle of the greenery, where you'll stay in silence and nature, with views of trees and space to really be offline for a while. Whether you come to relax, reflect, write or just do nothing at all: Haru invites you to land, breathe and come back to yourself. You are welcome for a night, a weekend or a midweek.
Nature and surroundings
Nowhere will you find a stream like in National Park Drentsche Aa: the best-preserved stream and esdorpen landscape in Western Europe. A romantically winding stream meanders through an ancient landscape of heathland, flowery hay meadows, dirt roads and esdorpen. This is Drenthe at its best.From the cottage you can make endless walks and cycling through surrounding nature reserves such as the Gasterse Dunes interspersed with heathland, the Hondsrug and ancient forests. Zuidlaren is nearby for shopping and catering, and Assen and Groningen are also within easy reach. So here you combine true silence, dark nights and a clear starry sky with the liveliness of the city within reach.
