Nature house in Stoutenburg

An outbuilding on our farmhouse near Amersfoort has been converted into a 98 m2 nature house. It has the feel of a loft, but is located just outside the city, surrounded by nature. It offers peace and quiet and is the perfect place for a retreat. With its distinctive exposed beam construction, natural materials, soothing colors, and beautiful natural light, it’s a delightful space. And there’s room set aside for yoga. The living room and four sleeping areas are located in one large open-concept space, though they’re separated for privacy. The dining table is a wonderful spot to work remotely. The kitchen is equipped with new appliances: an oven, dishwasher, induction cooktop, and Nespresso machine. You’ll have plenty of options for cooking. There’s also a shower room, a laundry room, a separate toilet, and charging stations for electric bikes and an electric car. Make yourself at home! This is not a place for smokers, pets, or parties. You’re responsible for doing the (easy) cleaning yourself. Laundry will be done for you. Bicycles are available free of charge.

The vacation home is part of a large property with a spacious garden featuring beautiful fruit trees. The section of the garden that belongs to the house, bordered by hedges, offers a view of the Schammerplas nature reserve. It feels like staying on a country estate here. Close to the historic city of Amersfoort, this is a lovely spot set in a beautiful park-like landscape. Outside, you may encounter pheasants, rabbits, hares, and all kinds of birds. On our property, we sometimes spot a roe deer and tracks from a badger and a marten. On nice, calm days, hot-air balloons often float by. Stoutenburg is a small village near Leusden and not far from Amsterdam. There are even more farms to be found in the surrounding romantic parkland. The wider area, with its estates, heathlands, and forests, is known for its beautiful cycling and hiking opportunities. Nearby is a cycling junction and a clog trail. The municipality of Leusden calls itself a “Hiking Municipality,” and there is plenty to discover in the Gelderse Vallei and Utrechtse Heuvelrug with all their natural beauty.
