A Tjalk built in 1892, either moored in the harbor or out sailing. It has 6 lovely rooms and a large space with a fully equipped kitchen featuring an oven, microwave, pots, pans, and dishes. The drinking water is filtered, and with standard electricity, everything works just like at home. On cold nights, the central heating system keeps the boat wonderfully warm. Relax on deck or at the stern on one of the lounge sofas. The bedrooms, each with a bunk bed for two people, are surprisingly spacious and equipped with a sink and storage space. The larger rooms feature two bunk beds for two people and also include a sink. The toilets work just like at home, and the shower is wonderful. Wake up to the sound of quacking ducklings or enjoy the sunset from the roof. A wonderful short getaway on the zeetjalk Orion in Enkhuizen. Relax on board or explore the historic town of Enkhuizen with its many shops and narrow streets. There are also beautiful museums, such as the Zuiderzee Museum.

The boat is moored at the Gependam (near Dirck China Square) in Enkhuizen. Sometimes it’s among the other charter boats, and often it’s delightfully all by itself. It offers a view of the IJsselmeer or, just over the dike, the Markermeer. Enkhuizen is a charming old town with many historic houses, delicious restaurants, and beautiful museums. Consider visiting the Zuiderzee Museum. It’s a great way to get away for a while and enjoy the fresh air by the IJsselmeer. You’ll stay on the Orion in your own cabin. It features a two- or four-person bunk bed. With the optional duvets and covers, you can complete the setup with the provided mattress and pillow covers—and you won’t have to worry about a thing. Each cabin has storage space, a power outlet, a mirror, and a sink with running water. The shared shower is warm and comfortable. The large kitchen is a delight to cook in; everything you need to cook for a large group is provided. Of course, you can also heat up a meal for two in the microwave or oven.
