Spending the night in part of a converted sheepfold, that is surely a fantastic way to discover Drenthe! Silence abounds, the only sound is the rustling of the oaks and the cry of our barn owl. In the apartment there is a room with a dining area, kitchen and sitting area. In addition, there is a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet. The bedroom is on the second floor, where you can get to by means of a staircase. You have access to two terraces, one is completely private and the other is located under the roof where you can sit under the thatch. If you want to relax even more you can always order a delicious breakfast, or a dish of the day, I cook entirely organic with produce and vegetables from the area.
Nature and surroundings
To enjoy nature you don't have to leave the yard, but of course you will explore Drenthe! From your spot you can walk onto a sandy path, and then you can walk for hours, the forest starts at less than 10 minutes walk. Around the nature house there are three national parks: the Drents-Friese Wold, the Dwingelderveld and the Weerribben-Wieden. And the Holtingerveld is within walking distance. Of course you can also explore Drenthe by bike from here, the area is littered with bike paths! For culture you can also go here, when you stay with me I have several tips for you! Oh yes ... enjoy nature and the sunset? You can do that in the Dutchtub, completely private!
