Trekkershut accommodates up to 4 people. It is equipped with two made bunk beds, electricity, a private seating area, there is a toilet and a water tap and a charging point for electric bikes. The cabin has the appearance of a traditional Twente field barn. Through the large windows you can see the sun rise in the morning. The Veldschup is - together with the hiker's huts 't Bakhoes and 't Hoonderhok - part of our small nature campsite Heanige Huuskes Hezingen: specially equipped for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. Almost everything is homemade, using mostly wood and second-hand materials. The Grote Schup is the central meeting place here, where you will find not only a kitchen, but also showers, washroom and toilets, a washing machine and electricity and charging points. And for enthusiasts: there is also an outdoor shower! Coffee and tea are available for free, and for a free donation you can have breakfast and pack your lunch.
Nature and surroundings
Heanige Huuskes Hezingen, is located at the edge of the nature reserve Het Springendal. This is near Ootmarsum and Vasse. All around are forests, heath and ash trees, and the "Ootmarsum lateral moraine" provides a graceful slope in the landscape. The German border is just a few hundred meters away, and there are mainly many dirt roads here, so you really feel like you are in nature. Junction 93 of the bicycle route network and selection point D97 of the hiking network are at our doorstep. And the long distance walks the Hilligenpad, the Twentepad and the Noaberpad "walk" past us. At night it is usually really dark and quiet here. And in the morning you wake up to the sounds of nature. Guests told us how they enjoyed the tapping rain on the roof and waking up to the drumming of a woodpecker.
