A beautiful, secluded nature house in the countryside outside Buurse, right next to the Witte Veen nature reserve. Come spot roe deer and admire the barn owl that rests here during the day. The cottage is located at the back of our authentic farmstead, beneath the old grain barn. It has been lovingly renovated using sustainable methods. Inside, it’s compact yet comfortable; there’s a TV and internet, a cozy gas fireplace, a kitchen with an oven, refrigerator, and stovetop, a bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a double box-spring bed. Access to the patio is through French doors, and the garden offers plenty of privacy and a great view. Linens, bedding, and some basic necessities are provided (coffee, tea, toilet paper). If desired, we offer eggs from our own chickens or, in late summer, vegetables from our garden.
Nature and surroundings
Our charming 1930s farmstead is located between the Buurser Beek and the beautiful Witte Veen nature reserve. We don’t have any barns with livestock, but we do have a few chickens and a beautiful, biodiverse garden. By car, you can cross the border into Germany in five minutes, or reach Enschede or Haaksbergen in ten minutes. There’s plenty more beautiful nature to explore in the area, either on foot or by bike. For example, the Buurserzand is within biking distance. There’s a local bus service, bike rentals in the village, and several restaurants and cafes nearby.
