Unique and generous vacation home on easily accessible but special and quiet place in National Park de Biesbosch, in the middle of a nature reserve full of birds, wild horses and Scottish Highlanders. The location of the apartment guarantees breathtaking sunsets in all seasons. To be admired from the apartment, its garden or your private hot tub and sauna. The apartment is part of a large black-wood barn built in 1905. The original beams and details in the apartment give it a monumentally cool and spacious feel. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. This barn has been completely restored and thoroughly preserved by the owner in recent years. The apartment has underfloor heating and a pleasant relaxed feel. It is a so-called single-room apartment, so everything is located in one room, except for the bathroom and toilet.
Nature and surroundings
The farm barn stands on an ancient river dune in the middle of the wild nature reserve of the Noordwaard and is surrounded all year round by incredible numbers of birds of the most diverse species. For bird lovers, this place is truly a paradise. Spoonbills, purple heron, osprey, bald eagle, all kinds of geese and waders, and at night the sound of an eagle owl or bittern ... The apartment has a large private garden (500 m2) overlooking this nature reserve. In the garden you will also find the barrel sauna and a wood-fired hot tub. You can use both free of charge. The wood for stoking the hot tub stove is available in the woodshed in the yard. Instructions for using the hot tub and sauna can be found in the information folder in the apartment. All basic amenities are provided in the sauna but you must provide your own sauna towel or bathrobe. For guests with an e-car, a charging station is available at the back wall of the parking lot.
