A unique and spacious vacation home in an easily accessible yet special and peaceful location in De Biesbosch National Park, nestled in a nature reserve teeming with birds, wild horses, and Scottish Highland cattle. The apartment’s location guarantees breathtaking sunsets in every season. You can admire them from the luxurious apartment, the adjoining garden, or your private hot tub and sauna. The apartment is part of a large black-wood farmhouse barn dating from 1905. The original beams and details in the apartment give the entire space a rustic, rugged, and spacious feel. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. In recent years, the owner (who also lives there) has completely restored and thoroughly renovated this barn. The apartment features underfloor heating and has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. It is a so-called single-room apartment, meaning everything is located in one space, with the exception of the bathroom and toilet.

Nature and surroundings

The barn stands on an ancient river dune in the floodplain of the Noordwaard and is surrounded year-round by incredible numbers of birds of the most diverse species. For bird lovers, this place is a paradise. Spoonbills, purple herons, ospreys, bald eagles, all kinds of geese and waders, and at night, the call of an eagle owl or a bittern... Your apartment has a private garden (500 m²) overlooking this nature reserve. Here you’ll find your own barrel sauna and a wood-fired hot tub. You can use the hot tub for a fee of 35 euros per day and the sauna for 15 euros. The wood to fuel the hot tub stove is stocked in the woodshed next to the tub. Instructions for using the hot tub and sauna can be found in the information folder in the apartment. Basic amenities are provided in the sauna, but you’ll need to bring your own sauna towel, bathrobe, and slippers. For guests with an electric car, a charging station is available in the parking lot.

What does “Fireworks-free” mean?
The host indicates that the area is firework-free. Firework-free means that no firework bangs can be heard in and around the accommodation. You might occasionally hear some noise or see some light from fireworks set off outside the immediate area. It is important that you agree with the landlord on what you can expect.
