Our detached cottage (approx 90m2) is attractively and comfortably furnished. It has a sitting room with wood stove, a spacious kitchen, and two bedrooms with air conditioning and bathroom. The many windows overlook a beautiful garden of 5000 m2 (!) and the place offers a sea of peace, space and privacy. The garden is lovingly decorated and maintained, and is full of plants and flowers, attracting squirrels and various species of birds. It is connected to the forest and nature reserve de Maashorst and nice villages.You enter through the French doors from the garden. The spacious kitchen includes a dishwasher, Quooker and American Fridge. The two bedrooms with beds of 160 and 180 cm have air conditioning and a private bathroom. The garden has a rack, trampoline and table tennis. The whole house is accessible except the third bedroom where we have stored private stuff.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is situated on the edge of a small bungalow park in Schaijk and has direct access to the Maashorst nature reserve. The Maashorst is a varied and surprising nature reserve of 3500 hectares with earthquakes, drifting dunes, forests and heathland. There live three large grazers: the Tauros, the exmoor pony, and the wisent. There are many well-marked routes, from short walks to longer bicycle rides. Our place is 5 to 10 minutes cycling distance from the center of Schaijk with a wide range of stores (supermarkets, bakery, Hema, Kruidvat etc). Schaijk also offers good restaurants for lunch or dinner.
