Welcome to casinha Revira-Volta, our cottage in central Portugal. We are in a small village in the countryside, between green hills, rivers, lakes, small villages and towns. Casinha Revira-Volta is part of our Quinta. In the Quinta we rent out 5 rooms upstairs, including breakfast. The casinha is our only cottage that we rent out separately. The cottage is located on a patio, has two bedrooms with in each bedroom two single beds that, pushed together, form a double bed of 1.80 x 2m, kitchen, bathroom and living room with TV and internet. It has two terraces, front and back. Both terraces offer privacy, but on the rear terrace you are really completely private, overlooking the garden. From the cottage a private path leads to the salt water pool. There you will also find a covered BBQ, a fridge with freezer and a spacious deck of about 100m2, where you can enjoy your vacation while looking out over the hills.
Nature and surroundings
We are in the green heart of Portugal, a hiking area par excellence. We are also on the pilgrimage route to Fatima. There are lots of hiking trails. Vila de Rei, Pedrogão grande, Pedrogão Pequeno, Cascatas de Fraga da Aqua d'Alta, just to name a few. We are also not that far from several natural parks, Serra da Estrela, parque Natural das Serras de Aire and the Buçaco National Forest, to name a few. Lake Trizio is 20 car minutes away from us, as well as the beautiful Fragas de São Simão. You can get to the coast in 1.5 hours. We ourselves prefer to go to Praia do Pedrogão, as you can walk through the dunes and don't have to meet any people. From the casinha it takes 45 minutes to get to Coimbra, a very pleasant city with the oldest university in Europe. Day trips to Porto and Lisbon are also possible, as both are 2 hours away.
