Nature and surroundings
One might walk all the way to the magical Puck’s Glen, which itself is not far from Benmore Botanical Garden, Loch Eck, other otherworldly nature spots. Nearer the flat, in walking (or kayaking distance), lies a natural swimming spot where the River Eachaig meets the Holy Loch- and convenient to the petrol station with its assortment of fresh groceries. A short bus or car ride away, a seaside town, served by ferries from Gourock: Dunoon itself offers full grocery amenities & more. The climate is mild, mist often forms around the mountains, with a variety of wildlife, from coupled sure swans to the talkative migratory birds, red squirrels, etc., The ruins of Toward Castle look across the Clyde estuary. The hills of Glen Massan hold quiet trails through forest and stream. The Bishop’s Glen reservoir rests close to Dunoon and its woodland walks. The Cowal Way path passes through, marking a route across peninsulas and glens. The high viewpoints above Strone reveal the merging sea loch
