This nature house is a romantic Flemish farmhouse (6à8 p) from 1805 that has been carefully restored. The atmosphere is warm and authentic, but there is also all modern comfort in terms of heating and sanitary facilities. You will find a cozy living room with wood stove and a fully equipped kitchen. In the dining room you can sit together cosily around the round table. The 4 bedrooms are on the first floor. You reach them via a miller's staircase - less suitable for people with mobility problems. The double beds in room 1 and 4 can be converted into 2 single beds. Useful if e.g. cycling friends, colleagues or girlfriends come. There are 2 bathrooms (with shower) and 2 toilets, one downstairs and one upstairs. Outside you will find a large, fully enclosed garden with terrace and all privacy. Ideal to have breakfast together, barbecue, drink a local beer under the plum tree and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located in Horebeke, a historic village in the Flemish Ardennes and near the Zwalm region. Here you will find a rolling landscape full of hiking and cycling opportunities, with breathtaking views and idyllic spots. From the house you can walk straight into nature and cycle along winding roads and charming villages. There is also a Nature Playground with picnic bench and a good Bio-shop in the village, both in the Koekoekstraat. The central location makes excursions easy: Ghent is about 30 km away, and Oudenaarde, Zottegem and Brakel can be reached in 15 minutes. But Den Haegepreeck is also ideal as a base for those who want to discover the Flemish cities: Bruges, Antwerp... For cycling enthusiasts, this is the place: the famous Tour of Flanders passes nearby, with iconic roads such as the Molenberg and the Haaghoek. And after a day full of nature or culture, you return to the wonderful peace and quiet of this little farm, to simply enjoy socializing with family or friends.
