Among the meadows and frogs fifteen minutes from Amsterdam lies this nature house. The nature house of about 40m2 is a detached cottage with independent access, located in the garden of a monumental Broeker house on the lake in the middle of the village - the Havenrak. Right next to the nature house runs a ditch, where the frogs croak and occasionally a duck or swan floats by. There is a large covered porch with comfortable chairs and a wood stove. You certainly won't feel watched while sitting comfortably on the porch: the distance from the main house provides plenty of privacy by itself, and the movable flower boxes on the porch do the rest. For the children: there is a large trampoline in the garden, you can play soccer or couple's dunks on the lawn.This Nature House is quietly and comfortably furnished. There is a spacious corner sofa, a dining table for four, a TV, a small but nice bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator (including freezer).
Nature and surroundings
Broek in Waterland is a picturesque small village with wooden houses, situated by the water and among the meadows. It is an oasis of peace that is perfectly accessible from Amsterdam: a bus leaves every few minutes and takes you to metro stop Amsterdam-Noord in 7 minutes, or to Amsterdam-Centraal in 15 minutes. There is a pancake house and good food at the Broekerhuis and De Drie Noten, but you don't have to go there for the discos. However, it is an excellent base for walks and for cycling trips to the nearby places Zuiderwoude, Durgerdam, Monnickendam, Edam, Volendam, Marken or - for the more fanatical cyclists - Hoorn, Enkhuizen or even a round of the IJsselmeer. Boating is also possible: from the water Broek in Waterland and the surrounding landscape is if possible even more beautiful than from the shore. In the village is a canoe and whisper boat rental. You can moor more or less at the door of the nature house.
