On a private part of the 3 acres of land are hidden and hidden from view a luxury Yurt and Greenhouse. Both are heated with wood stoves for which wood is provided free of charge. In the yurt you feel enveloped and come to complete rest on a lovely bed. In the accompanying greenhouse you have a panoramic view of the Beemster polder. Here you can muse in a comfortable chair, cook a meal on an electric stove, fire up the stove or write at the table. You have access to your own (dry) toilet and an outdoor shower (cold!). You can also cook a soup over the fire outside and be satisfied, lying in the hammock, gazing at the stars. The sauna a little further on the property can be used (shared with other guests). Get away from the world for a while; This part of the country is completely private and feels like an island amid the vastness of the polder landscape. Throw your phone aside along with your shoes and experience what that alone does.
Nature and surroundings
Grootschermer is located in a primeval Dutch polder landscape. Along a winding dike with reeds, windmills and views. It is still old-fashioned open and spacious here and people are friendly and relaxed. Small villages are scattered left and right in the landscape as well as the Unesco Beemster Heritage site. Beautiful hiking, cycling and motorcycle routes make your stay a wonderful experience. You can also be in the dunes or on the beach within half an hour by car.
