Unique overnight stay in a renovated World War II bunker. Tastefully decorated with vintage and contemporary design and art. A lovely sustainable LOOF bed, cool mini kitchen, bathroom with rain shower and wifi. Also perfect as a writer's cottage or workspace. The bright space totals 24m2 and is fully insulated and has underfloor heating. It is nice and cool in the summer and pleasantly warm in the winter. Nearby you can get dairy products and jam for breakfast at Zijper Zuivel on the Grote sloot. Eggs at a stall further on and honey at beekeeper Regina. Both on the Ruigeweg. Simple dishes can be cooked in the bunker on the 2 burner stove. On the terrace is a pizza oven / BBQ Weltevree. Located on the Ruigeweg in private forest where you can relax. Beach, sea and Schagen 5 km away. A special place to really unwind!
Nature and surroundings
This bunker, built in 1944, is located on Ruigeweg in the yard of a house, studio, yurt and 1.75 acres of private forest. We ourselves live in the small house on the road and have been developing this place for almost 5 years now. You can find more information on our website. This is the last piece of forest of the Pineapple Forest which is a public forest. I have a nice walking route of 4.5 km from the yard. It is great cycling in this area between the farmlands and (in spring) the tulip fields. The beach, dunes and picturesque Schagen just 5 km away. Also the Schoorl Dunes and the Zwanenwater are beautiful natural areas to be in. For even more tips please contact the host.

We had a wonderful weekend in the bunker! The cottage is mega nice decorated with all kinds of funny details. We made good use of the wood stove outside and made for a relaxing evening. It is located in a wooded area that you should definitely explore.We were warmly welcomed by the owners who enthusiastically told us about their renovation on the property.The only downside I can think of is that you can hear the road it is located on quite well from the cottage, but at the same time it is so quiet that only occasionally something passes by.
Wij hebben een heerlijk weekendje gehad in de bunker! Het huisje is mega leuk ingericht met allerlei grappige details. Het houtkacheltje dat buiten staat hebben we goed gebruikt en zorgde voor een ontspannen avond. Het ligt op een bosachtig terrein dat je zeker even moet verkennen.
