In Westdorp, away from all the hustle and bustle, stands our "pod". The cottage is located in its own yard and offers enough space and privacy during your stay to unwind. The cottage is equipped with underfloor heating and good insulation making it pleasant throughout the year. It is one room equipped with a double bed, a kitchenette with dishwasher (including tablets), a sitting area and a dining area. In a separate room there is a shower, toilet and washbasin. There is also a covered bicycle shed with loading facilities and a terrace where you can enjoy the outdoors. There is a diversity of bird species including the green woodpecker. There is a Dolce Gusto machine (including some cups and can be ordered extra if necessary) and kitchen, bath and bed linen. You have a private parking space. It's small but nice and definitely a good place to stay.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is centrally located near forests and beautiful hiking and biking routes. Sights within cycling distance include the hunebedmuseum, boomkroonpad, Orvelte, Poolshoogte, former Camp Westerbork, a sculpture garden with ceramic sculptures, outdoor museum Ellert and Brammert and the Pieterpad. In Borger which is less than 3km away, there are bus stops to Emmen, Assen and Groningen, several restaurants, several supermarkets, a bakery, butcher, drugstore, clothing stores and there is a market on Tuesday morning. In Westdorp itself you can also enjoy a walk around the block and just dream away on a bench along the canal or to spot the beavers and kingfishers, there is a magazine cabinet at the village hall where you may use. In short, plenty to do to make a stay worthwhile.
