In the glory of Terblijt, located between Valkenburg and Maastricht, is our farmstead. Here we live and work with our family of five. In the former horse stable we have realized a 6 person vacation home. The house is detached. On one side it has access to the common courtyard, on the other side the house has a private garden, with south-facing terrace. There is a collective trampoline available.Due to the level difference in the terrain, the house has three levels. Two bedrooms and a bathroom with toilet and shower on the courtyard level. The kitchen is on an intermediate level at the level of the garden. Upstairs is the living room and a bedroom with ensuite bathroom, with bathtub. The original tracery roof and clay plastered walls give the house an authentic and cozy feeling. The house is insulated with ecological materials and is heated by a heat pump powered by its own solar cells.
Nature and surroundings
Terblijt is located on the plateau of Margraten and is a small quiet hamlet, originally agricultural. Still the village is bordered by fruit orchards and grassland. The famous Pieterpad runs through our street and is one of the many hiking and cycling routes that can be followed from Terblijt. They take visitors past marl quarries, forest slopes, the basin of the gully with its water mills and prehistoric flint mines, among others. About 15-20 minutes away by bike is the center of Valkenburg or Maastricht. So also an ideal base to make historical , cultural and culinary trips from the tranquility of the countryside.
