This nature house is a cozy vacation apartment between the spring villages of Dwingeloo and Diever, within cycling distance of two National Parks. Originally built in 1905, the house has had various uses; from butcher shop to antiquarian bookshop. Until we bought the house in 2022 and partly converted it into a guest house. There is ample parking for both car and bicycles. In the living room there is a dining table, comfortable three-seater sofa, armchair and a smart TV. Seasonally, we make it cozy with appropriate decorations. Behind the stained-glass windows is the bedroom, with a bed 1.60 m wide. The open kitchen has a spacious stone sink and mixer tap. Pans, cutlery, refrigerator and cooking equipment - such as a two-burner stove and combination microwave - are also provided. The spacious bathroom has a rain shower with its own water heater and double sink. Many basic necessities are provided; such as toilet paper, hand and kitchen towels, bedding and coffee/tea.
Nature and surroundings
Within an hour and a half's drive from the Randstad you will find yourself in a completely different world. In the region of Southwest Drenthe you are guaranteed to be surprised and welcomed by space, 'audible' silence and deep darkness with an unprecedented starry beauty. Southwest Drenthe is well endowed with no less than 3 National Parks and even more nature reserves. In this ancient nature you will also discover the traces of an extraordinary historical past. Let yourself be intrigued by the stories behind beautiful estates and the unique cultural history of the Colonies of Weldadigheid. Drenthe's cycling paths, hiking trails, nature trails and bridle paths offer you the opportunity to discover nature on the spot. Alternate a day in nature with a visit to authentic brink villages such as Dwingeloo, Diever and Ruinen or the cities of Meppel and Hoogeveen.
