Nature house in Lith

It’s an extraordinary experience to wake up on a houseboat surrounded by nature. We had no idea how to navigate, so we ran into a few challenges. It’s important to check the tide schedules. The tides aren’t very strong, but you need to take them into account when anchoring for the night. I highly recommend asking lots of questions at the start. Teun was always available to answer our questions.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay and definitely plan to do this again.

C'est une expérience extraordinaire de se réveiller sur le house boat en pleine nature. Nous n'avions aucune notion de naviguation d'où quelques challenges se sont posés à nous. Il est nécessaire de s'informer sur les marées. Celles-ci ne sont pas très fortes mais il faut en tenir compte lorsque l'on se pose pour la nuit. Je conseille vivement de poser beaucoup de questions au départ. Teun a été toujours disponible pour répondre à nos interrogations.
En conclusion, nous avons passé un excellent séjour et comptons bien réitérer l'aventure.

The surrounding natural scenery is exceptional; we enjoyed the bodies of water, the flora, and the fauna. We spotted many birds, buffalo, and even beavers.
The kids loved paddling on the calm waters of the lakes and rivers. It was all magical.
Our only complaint was the occasional presence of noisy jet skis, which is a real shame in a nature reserve.

La nature environnante est exceptionnelle, nous avons apprécié les étendues d'eau, la faune et la flore. Nous avons observé de nombreux oiseaux, des buffles et même des castors.
Les enfants ont adoré naviguer sur les eaux tranquilles des lacs et rivières. Tout était magique.
Nous avons juste déploré la présence, à certains moments, de jet skys bruyants ce qui est bien dommage dans une réserve naturelle.

The only downside to our experience that I can think of is really down to ourselves - that we had little to no experience sailing, and so sometimes had some stress from anchoring, or getting stuck by the ebb (or however you say that correctly, haha). So for fellow laymen: if you want some peace of mind on this, read up on it, or ask during instruction how to avoid this :-)

Het enige minpunt aan onze ervaring dat ik kan bedenken ligt eigenlijk aan onszelf - dat we weinig tot geen ervaring hadden met varen, en dus soms wat stress hadden van het anker leggen, of vast komen liggen door de eb (of hoe je dat ook correct zegt, haha). Dus voor mede-leken: als je hier wat meer rust in wil hebben, lees je even in, of vraag het tijdens de instructie hoe je dit kan voorkomen :-)

Wow, what a special experience! Being able to sail on calm water in the middle of a nature reserve on a kind of lake, with the possibility of going to a river. Wonderfully anchored, or moored on a beach to spend the night. Go to sleep and wake up to birds, swans, unobstructed views of the water, and possibly buffalo/cows coming to drink. With nice weather being able to splash in the cooling water, or float on your tire or air mattress. Or under the umbrella on the deck enjoying some wine (and a sneaky B&B Full of Love, caught). We unwinded and had a unique experience - we're already talking about wanting to do this again.

Wauw, wat een bijzondere ervaring! Lekker op rustig water midden in een natuurgebied op een soort meer kunnen varen, met de mogelijkheid naar een rivier te kunnen gaan. Heerlijk voor anker, of op een strandje aanmeren om de nacht door te kunnen brengen. Gaan slapen en wakker worden met vogels, zwanen, vrij uitzicht op het water, en eventueel buffels/koeien die komen drinken. Met lekker weer kunnen plonzen in het verkoelende water, of dobberen op je band of luchtbedje. Of onder de parasol op het dek genieten van een wijntje (en een stiekeme B&B Vol Liefde, betrapt). We zijn tot rust gekomen en hebben een unieke ervaring gehad - we hebben het er nu al over dat we dit nog een keer willen doen.

The four of us had very nice days on the Meuse and the neighboring waters. Communication with the owner was excellent and after a friendly and detailed briefing, we were our own captain and had great fun on the water. The large windows let plenty of light inside. Spacious covered seating area at the front and you can also look out over the water from the back. Lovely furnishings and small cooking facilities. All in all, we had a great time and can only recommend a stay on the houseboat.

Wir hatten zu viert sehr schöne Tage auf der Maas und den angrenzenden Gewässern. Die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer verlief prima.
Nach einer freundlichen und ausführlichen Einweisung waren wir unser eigener Kapitän mit großem Badespaß. Die großen Fenster ließen viel Licht ins Innere. Großzügige überdachte Sitzgelegenheit vorne und auch hinten kann man gemütlich aufs Wasser schauen. Liebevolle Ausstattung und kleine Kochmöglichkeit. Alles in allem hatten wir eine tolle Zeit und können den Aufenthalt auf dem Hausboot nur empfehlen.
