Nature house in Balloo

The cottage is clean and equipped with all the amenities. Well-equipped kitchen. In our opinion, the location is a bit less peaceful than we’d expect for a nature house. It’s on a road with quite a bit of traffic. We found the outdoor area to be very small. The owner did provide an additional spot under the trees, though. We really appreciated that.

Het huisje is proper en voorzien van alle gemakken. Goed uitgeruste keuken. De ligging is in onze ogen wat minder rustig voor een natuurhuisje. Het ligt aan een weg waar toch wel wat verkeer langskomt. De buitenruimte vonden we erg klein. De eigenaar zorgde wel voor een bijkomend plekje onder de bomen. Dat konden we wel appreciëren.

The cottage is an ideal base for beautiful bike rides and lovely walks. The surroundings are truly beautiful. It’s right in the heart of Drentsche Aa, and the surrounding nature reserves are also within biking distance. We also found the proximity to the village and a store very convenient.

Het huisje is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor mooie fietstochten en heerlijke wandelingen. De omgeving is echt prachtig. Midden in Drentsche Aa maar ook de natuurgebieden rondom zijn op fietsaftand bereikbaar. De nabijheid van het dorp en een winkel vonden we ook heel gemakkelijk.

A cozy little cottage. Clean, and everything you need is there. The cottage is part of a large farmhouse, but you have complete privacy. A warm welcome from lovely people. The Balloohoeve farm shop is indeed very nice—perfect for a cup of coffee and almost all your groceries. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The only downside: there’s quite a bit of traffic (it’s a shortcut), but you get used to it quickly.

Een knus huisje. Schoon, en alles is er. Het huisje is een deel van een grote woonboerderij, maar je hebt complete privacy. Een hartelijke ontvangst, fijne mensen. De boerderijwinkel Balloohoeve is inderdaad erg fijn; voor een koffie en bijna al je boodschappen. Mooie, rustige omgeving. Enig minpuntje: redelijk wat verkeer (sluiproute), maar dat went snel.

We had a tremendous time at nature house the Bolderstee. Very friendly landlords who clearly value your privacy. Many beautiful nature and dolmens in the immediate vicinity. Stores in Rolde just 5 minutes by bike. Even closer, in Balloo itself, is a farm store with natural products and delicious ice cream. Also recommended are the date chocolates you can buy nearby at a small (unmanned) stall.

We hebben het enorm naar ons zin gehad in natuurhuisje de Bolderstee. Zeer vriendelijke verhuurders die duidelijk waarde hechten aan je privacy. Af en toe komt de kat even gezellig kopjes geven als je buiten zit.

Veel mooie natuur en hunebedden in de directe omgeving. Winkels in Rolde op maar 5 minuten fietsen. Nog dichterbij, in Balloo zelf, is een boerderijwinkel met natuurproducten en heerlijk ijs. Ook aan te raden zijn de dadelbonbons die je vlakbij kunt kopen bij een klein (onbemand) stalletje.

A lovely quiet cottage, surrounded by the sound of many birds (including an oriole!). We had fantastic hiking and biking in both the immediate area and a little further away.

Een heerlijk rustig huisje, omringd door het geluid van vele vogels (waaronder een wielewaal!). We hebben fantastisch gewandeld en gefietst in zowel de directe omgeving als iets verder weg.
