Nature house in Holten

A very nice, old cottage where the most important things were present.Lots of space and wonderful that there is a sauna.Too bad that it is very close to the big house, unfortunately that was not in the description, otherwise we would not have booked this.Also we did not like the fact that the place in the garden for tenants was across the yard. Near the garbage cans. Since the hedge was not dense, it would not be private when the residents were home. We were fortunately alone there.Unfortunately, there is also the camera facing the shared yard, which does not give a nice sense of privacy with every crossing to and from garden and cottage.Since it is not clearly stated in the description, nor in the photos, that the cottage is in a yard, this does not feel like a nature house to us. As nice as the cottage itself is, I would not recommend this if you like privacy and a cottage in nature.

Een heel mooi, oud huisje waar de belangrijkste dingen aanwezig waren.
Veel ruimte en heerlijk dat er een sauna is.
Jammer dat het zeer dicht bij het grote huis staat, dat stond helaas niet in de beschrijving, anders hadden we dit niet geboekt.
Ook vonden wij het niet prettig dat het plekje in de tuin voor huurders aan de overkant van het erf was. Bij de afvalbakken. Omdat de heg niet dichtbegroeid was, zou dat niet privé zijn wanneer de bewoners thuis waren. Wij waren gelukkig daar alleen.
Helaas is er ook nog de camera die op het gedeelde erf gericht staat en bij elke oversteek naar en van tuin en huisje geen fijn gevoel van privacy geeft.
Omdat niet duidelijk in de beschrijving staat, en ook niet op de foto's, dat het huisje op een erf staat, voelt dit voor ons niet als een natuurhuisje. Hoe leuk het huisje zelf ook is.
Ik zou dit dan ook niet aanraden als je van privacy en van een huisje in de natuur houdt.

Beautiful location in the region. Many opportunities for cycling and walking. Very green and vast, we really enjoyed it. Too bad though that the cottage is close to the road and the traffic there in the evening/night is quite loud, which regularly startled us because it was so close.

Mooie locatie in de regio. Veel mogelijkheden voor fietstochten en wandelingen. Erg groen en weids, we hebben daar echt van genoten.
Wel jammer dat het huisje dicht aan de weg ligt en het verkeer er 's avonds/'s nachts vrij hard rijdt, wat ons regelmatig deed opschrikken omdat het zo dichtbij was.

Sauna we did not use but looked fine. Shower water is a little cold, 38g. It does have a thermostatic faucet but probably can't get to the hotter setting due to lime. Kitchen is well equipped, a frying pan could be added for convenience. Beds are well supplied with different thicknesses of comforters and nice warm fleece blankets everywhere. Fireplace in there, very romantic. Thermostat of the central heating is in a bedroom so you have to keep this door open otherwise the heater will not turn off. This is a bit inconvenient but not a real problem.

Sauna hebben wij niet gebruikt maar zag er prima uit. Douche water is een beetje koud, 38g. Wel een thermostaatkraan maar waarschijnlijk door kalk niet op de hetere stand te krijgen.
Keuken is goed uitgerust, er zou een bakpan bij kunnen voor het gemak. Bedden zijn goed voorzien van verschillende diktes dekbedden en overal liggen lekkere warme fleecedekentjes. Haardje erbij aan, heel romantisch. Thermostaat van de centrale verwarming zit in een slaapkamer dus deze deur moet je open houden anders slaat de kachel niet meer af. Dat is wat onhandig maar geen echt probleem.

Fine cottage, cozy and fully equipped. Beds were also fine. The cottage is at the back directly on a road but you hear here occasionally a car driving, not constantly. Through the orchard and meadow you can reach a dirt road for a nice walk. Nature is beautiful and also the facilities in Holten are fine.

Prima huisje, gezellig en van alle gemakken voorzien. Bedden waren ook prima. Het huisje ligt aan de achterkant direct aan een weg maar je hoort hier zo af en toe eens een auto rijden, niet constant. Via de boomgaard en weide kun je zo een zandpad bereiken om nog even lekker een wandelingetje te maken. Natuur is prachtig en ook de voorzieningen in Holten zijn prima.

A cottage that in itself has everything, but simple and on arrival certainly not completely clean. It could use a good cleaning. This made it less comfortable when upon entering you find dust, hair and filthy doorknobs and light switches. No emptied stove and no kindling. Feels less welcome then, bit of a shame.

Een huisje waar op zich alles aanwezig is, maar eenvoudig en bij aankomst zeker niet helemaal schoon. Het kan wel een flinke schoonmaakbeurt gebruiken. Dat maakte het minder comfortabel als je bij binnenkomst stof, haren en smoezelige deurknoppen en lichtknopjes aantreft. Geen leeggemaakte kachel en zonder aanmaak spullen. Voelt dan minder welkom.
Beetje jammer.

Minus point we found that you are fairly close to the owner's house. Outside are cameras so you have little privacy on the terrace by the front door.

Minpunt vonden we dat je redelijk dichtbij het huis vd eigenaar zit.
Buiten zijn camera's zodat je op het terrasje bij de voordeur weinig privacy hebt.
