The apartment is on the second floor and has its own entrance at the back of the house. It can accommodate two to a maximum of four people. There are two beds on the mezzanine, which is accessible via a so-called miller's staircase. The apartment is equipped with everything needed for living, sleeping and cooking. Cooking is on induction, there is an oven, a refrigerator, a freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There is a separate bathroom with toilet and shower (with an unobstructed view over the meadows). Around the house there are plenty of seating areas for sitting or eating outside. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment. There are 4 bicycles that can be used free of charge. Own bikes can be safely stored in a locked shed. The house is located on a mound, where there used to be a mill. Now there is still the pumping station, which is a municipal monument and managed by us for Hoogheemraadschap. The house offers every opportunity to unwind.
Nature and surroundings
The house with the apartment is located just before the Westfriese omringdijk and 5 km from the activity beach at Petten. A popular place to cozy coffee or something to eat is Zee en zo. The view from the house is in the east on the West Frisian dike, in the south on the dunes of Schoorl, in the west on the village Burgerbrug and in the north across the meadows (and sometimes tulip fields) to St. Maartenbrug and in clear weather Schagen is visible. Burgerbrug can be a base for walking and cycling from Bergen to Den Helder, or by bike and boat to Texel. Between Bergen and Den Helder are as many as 7 beach entrances, which are worth visiting. Also with children there are many opportunities for entertainment. In bad weather can always be diverted to museums etc. in Alkmaar, Schagen, Den Helder etc. In the apartment we have a book with all the possibilities to visit special places in the Noordkop.
