This spacious 4-person recreation house was totally renovated in 2024. The cottage is located in part of the barn. There is a beautiful view of the pond, and a private terrace. From there you walk into the orchard, and further on there is another larger pond with the camping area behind it. It is a quiet place , and for those who want it, also the coziness of camping life. On the grounds is a recreation room with many options, such as getting food from the vegetable garden and fruit - and orchard, or borrowing a book or game. There is much to explore here! Ever seen a pecan tree? Or eaten a paw -paw? Here we live with the seasons and eat whatever is ready to be harvested at the time. Berries, strawberries, grapes, hazelnuts, apples, pears, grapes, just to name a few. The greenhouse and vegetable garden provide fresh vegetables. Lots of greenery also attracts a wide variety of birds and butterflies. Enjoy in all seasons!!!
Nature and surroundings
There is already a lot to do on the camping grounds. For children there is a trampoline and soccer goal in the orchard. From the campsite there are cycling and walking routes and you can start exploring the area. The national park Dwingelerveld with visitor center, the Holtingerveld, the Doldersummerveld, the Reestdal, forestry Ruinen and Mantingerzand are beautiful natural areas nearby. Also nearby is recreational lake Schoonhoven. Finally, discover what the history of the excavation of peat has done to this landscape. For that you can go to the Veenpark in Borger Compasum, the outdoor museum Ellert and Brammert. A stay in this cottage is also very suitable to book together with family or friends who have a caravan , camper or tent! There is then the possibility to rent the recreation room there for a half day, to be together.
