This cottage offers the ideal setting for a wonderful stay surrounded by nature, where you can escape the daily hustle and bustle and completely unwind. The architect-designed cottage (architect Nynke-Rixt Jukema), spread over three floors, has been furnished with care and taste, and its playful layout offers a unique sense of space. There are three compact bedrooms: two double beds (160x200) and a bunk bed (80x200), two bathrooms, and two toilets, ensuring plenty of privacy and comfort for (young) families or active travelers seeking peace and quiet. The cottage is modern and comfortably equipped: underfloor heating throughout, a covered bike charging station, a Jotul wood stove, a Smart TV with fast streaming, and parking right outside the door. You’ll experience peace, comfort, and a sense of creativity!
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is playfully situated on one of the two hills and invites you to enjoy the nature around you, both indoors and outdoors. From the living room on the top floor, you have a view not only of the forest (where you might spot deer) but also of the Terhorsterzand/Dwingelderveld nature reserve. Here you’ll find heathlands, forests, ponds, and small lakes where you can enjoy plenty of hiking, biking, and swimming. You can relax in the morning sun on the terrace and in the evening under the porch. On quiet nights, you can truly experience the darkness here and gaze at the stars. A shared, simply heated swimming pool (open in June, July, and August; free for campground guests) is a 300-meter walk away. What we especially appreciated was the suitability of the cottage for small children. The stair gate and the washing machine are really top in that respect. There is a nice playground around the corner and the area itself is quiet enough that your child can play nicely. The owners are super nice to contact. We will definitely come back. One mini thing why it is not a ten: for our taste the bed was a little hard.

Wat wij vooral waardeerden was de geschiktheid van het huisje voor kleine kinderen. Het traphekje en de wasmachine zijn echt top in dat opzicht. Er is een fijne speeltuin om de hoek en het terrein zelf is rustig genoeg dat je kind lekker kan spelen. De eigenaren zijn super fijn in contact. Wij komen zeker terug. Een mini ding waarom het geen tien is: naar onze smaak was het bed een beetje hard.
