Vacation home Quinta dos Lagares, Central Portugal Away from the hustle and bustle? Come to our beautiful quinta in central Portugal! A lovely vacation home with all the comforts and no stress. Two hours drive from the Porto airport, near the town of Tábua, lies Quinta dos Lagares. A beautiful piece of land right on the river Mondego. The comfortable vacation home is located in the forest, with a view of the wide river through the trees. On the quiet beach there are occasional local people fishing, sometimes someone sails by in a boat, but otherwise you will hardly meet anyone. Quinta dos Lagares is ideal for people who love nature and undiscovered Portugal. Espadanal is an old, typical Portuguese village. Five kilometers away is the town of Tábua, with a supermarket, restaurants, a bus station and a weekly market on Sundays and a large market on the first Sunday of every month. The house is suitable for 2 or possibly 3 people.
Nature and surroundings
Unique place on the river Mondego. The cottage and the main building stand on over 4 hectares of private land, partly cultivated (terraces with grapes, olives and fruit trees), partly wild: many trees, ferns, various streams, flowers and plants, sun and shade. If you are patient you can see otters, kingfishers and crayfishers. Many lizards, non-poisonous trap snakes, crickets, birds, salamanders and butterflies.The quinta is located just outside the small village of Espadanal with friendly people. The quinta is easily accessible. The last part from the village is a good dirt road. 'Os lagares' (the name for places where oil is pressed) is the old name of a part of the quinta.
